Abstract:

Application of regulators in production of pot plants have been increasing due to lowering growth, improving branching and the number of flowering branches. In order to study the effect of levels and application method of trinexapac-ethyl regulator on height control and morphophysiological characteristics and flowering of Zinnia elegans, a factorial experiment based on completely randomized design with three replications was performed. Zinnias seedlings were planted in polyethylene pots and subjected to trinexapac-ethyl with levels of zero, 2×10-3, 1×10-3, 0.5×10-3 and 4.5×10-4 g when the first bud emerged. Trinexapac-ethyl was applied in both foliar spray and soil application. According to the results, 1×10-3 and 2×10-3g trinexapac-ethyl caused significant reduction in plant height. As trinexapac-ethyl level increased, number of branches and flowers were increased accordingly most of which was under the latter treatment. Branch length and leaf number was not affected. The concentrations 1×10-3 and 2×10-3g increased chlorophyll and shoots sugars, but not on root. Similarly, soil application of Trinexapac-ethyl did not showed positive effects. In light of obtained results, foliar spray application of Trinexapac-ethyl may serve as a suitable way to produce dwarf and pot Zinnia elegans  ‘State fair mix’. Based on the obtained results, application of Trinexapac-ethyl as foliar application can control and reduce the height of the Zinnia elegans ‘State fair mix’.

Abstract:

Psychological pressure seriously affects the performance of human resources, and this effect is more visible especially in difficult jobs and Stressful conditions of security and information. In this research, which was carried out using descriptive-analytical method in order to investigate the State of occupational Stress in security jobs, 60 employees were randomly selected as a statistical sample, and the sources of psychological Stress were determined using a standard and researcher-made questionnaire. After conducting the test, collecting information and analyzing data with spss software and the results obtained from it, 9 sources of psychological pressure (role workload, role incompetence, role duality, role scope, responsibility, physical environment, welfare, family, social and communication dimension) were investigated. The results were that the most source of Stress was related to the welfare dimension, followed by the dimensions of role burden, responsibility, role inadequacy, communication, role scope, family-social, physical environment, and finally role duality played a role in people’s Stress.

Abstract:

It is a fact that excessive traffic of machines on natural sources and agricultural fields increases soil compaction. The study of soil compaction requires determination of the Stress State of soil. A transducer was designed to measure normal pressure in six predetermined directions. The pressure transducer composed of six sensing units and a core. The Data Acquisition System used in this research consists of a data logger, a printer and a recorder. The data collected were used to determine shear Stresses which in turn can be utilized for calculation of soil Stress State. The change in soil density due to the excessive traffic can be calculated by these data.

Abstract:

Background: The most frequently used test for evaluation of fetal health is the Non Stress Test (NST). Unfortunately it has a high incidence of false positive results. The combination of vibroacoustic stimulation with the NTS has been shown to reduce non reactive results. Methods: A tests assessment method was chosen with a simple randomized sampling. 40 pregnant women with non reactive NST in the first 20 minutes who received VAS in one of Tehran University's Hospitals were compared with BPP scores. A vibroacoustic stimulation was applied for a 3 seconds on the maternal abdomen and fallowed within 10 minutes. Data collection tools were NST, sonography instruments, NST result paper, tooth brusher, watch, demographic questioner and check list. Data analysis was made by descriptive static and by using the Fisher's Exact Test (with level of significant at p<0/05). All statistical analysis were performed using an spss/win.Results: After VAS, 70% of non reactive tracing became reactive. All cases with fetal reactivity response after a VAS had a subsequent BPP score of 8 (negative predictive value of 100%). False positivity of VAS was lower than NST.Conclusion: VAS offers benefits, by decreasing the incidence of non reactive test and reducing test time. VAS lowers the rate of false positive NST. VAS is safe and allows more efficient of prenatal services. This test could be used as a rapid antepartum test to predict fetal well-being.

Abstract:

Purpose: Application of heavy forces to maxillary dentition during treatment with headgear, induces high concentration of Stresses in periodontal tissue. Quantification of this Stress is of great concern in orthodontics. This study was designed to investigate the quantity and quality of Stress response in the PDL of maxillary first molar which was subjected to high pull headgear traction using Finite Element method. Methods and Material: In an experimental study, a three-dimensional finite element model of maxillary dentition, consisting of 17096 elements and 23013 nodes, was developed based on a young human skull. The forces were applied to the maxillary first molar in the stabilized Arch by means of a rectangular full size arch wire in (022) slot bracket. Mechanical properties of this model were based on previous studies. A 350 gram force was used for high pull headgear to affect the dentition (+30 degree) and Stress distribution was investigated in buccal, palatal, mesial and distal side and in cervical, middle, apical sections of the PDL. The quantity of Stresses were expressed as principal Stresses (1,2,3), while the negative and positive signs indicated compressive and tensile Stresses. Results: The buccal surface of PDL of mesiobuccal root and the buccal, palatal and distal surface in cervical region of PDL of distobuccal root and the distal surface of the PDL of palatal root had received a great deal of Stresses, in addition, the over all Stress distribution in roots of molar had intrusive nature. Conclusion: The extension of high Stress concentration areas observed after using high pull headgear is limited to some root surfaces specially the distobuccal root.

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was comparing the Stress of breast cancer patients to that of healthy women. A sample of 65 breast cancer patients were selected from "Imam-Khomeini Cancer Institute" (from summer to autumn of 2008). They were chosen from the available patients who were diagnosed with cancer for less than two months. Variables such as marital status, economic status, age and education were taken into consideration in both the experimental and the control groups. Pickle's "life event" questionnaire (1971) was used to assess the Stress in those groups. The data were analyzed using t-test. The results suggest that the Stress in breast cancer patients is significantly higher than others. Moreover, women who bereaved the loss of a relative, had unwanted pregnancy or experienced divorce had more Stress.

Abstract:

In this research, the Stress State in the Zagros fold and thrust belt is studied using inversion method analysis of focal mechanisms of earthquakes related to active faults of this region. Geological, structural and seismic differences throughout the Zagros fold and thrust belt led us to divide it into five structural zones to make the analysis of a homogenous Stress State in each zone possible. Stress analysis in the Zagros belt was done using a large body of available earthquake dataset. For this purpose to be achieved, focal mechanism data of the Zagros earthquakes was first collected from different sources, then were integrated in the analysis after doing a process of corrections and controls. The present research uses Dyngli Software to analyze Stress separation in the defined structural zones. Results show that different parts of the Zagros fold and thrust belt are characterized by at least three, and in some cases four, separate Stress regimes. It is evidently shown that the orientations of the first and third Stress regimes in Zones 1 and 2, third and fourth regimes in Zone 3, third regime in Zone 4, and first, second and fourth regimes in Zone 5 are in a good agreement with previous studies particularly GPS geodesy results. Crustal displacement directions already determined by GPS geodesy show that, on the one hand, shortening is not uniform across the whole length of the Zagros ranges, and on the other hand strain field orientations and fault slips are also different. This could be related to multiple Stress regimes in the Zagros belt. Furthermore, considering a thin-skinned tectonic model in the Zagros, those Stress regimes that are compatible with GPS results seem to occur within the sedimentary cover, causing a relatively continuous seismic response in the form of earthquakes of small magnitude. Therefore, the first, second and fourth Stress regimes in Zone 1, second regime in Zone 2, first and second regimes in Zones 3 and 4, and third regime in Zone 5 are suggested to be linked to basement, in which Stress concentration causes large magnitude earthquakes in Zagros. Also, results showed that compressional Stress orientations are normal to the structural trends in all zones; the second compressional regime in Zones 1, 2, 3 and 5, and first regime in zone 4 are normal to the folded and thrusted structures.
